turning 1 was so much fun!

addison's birthday was so much fun! it's hard to believe that she's not a 'baby' anymore and growing to be such a 'big girl.' we had lots of special friends join us and we just had the best time. after the party we took a quick nap and then went to the circus. addison held on for about 30 minutes and then slept in my arms, which was nice. avery loved every minute and, being the animal lover that she is, now wants to join the circus.

only one more sleep!

avery measures time by the number of 'sleeps' she has until the next big event. she's counting down the 50 or so sleeps we have until disney....but today....there is only one more sleep until addison's birthday! it's hard to believe a year ago today i was in dr edwards office listening to him tell me i would (at 36 weeks) be back in 24 hours or less...and i was.

today, we're celebrating addison! happy almost birthday!

they're growing up....

avery just started preschool and i think it's going to be great for her. she has such strong separation anxiety but calms pretty quickly (i think...). she was very excited for her first day, as you can see here...but not so much when we got there. however, miss ruth sent a heart-shaped sticky note home in her folder that said she had a great day. today she learned about the letter 'L' and it's sound. please note that benjamin made the trip to school.

and addison is getting bigger every day. it seems like every day she does something new. what's fun is that she does it completely different than avery did. she's definitely more mobile than avery ever thought about being...i can't leave her in a room alone. allen came in last night and said she was pulling cords out of the wall.

i took this picture when she was begging me to come back in and get her at naptime..and she gave me a big smile when i walked back in. sorry adddison...just wanted the picture!

best friends

it's so fun watching avery and addison together. avery has the upper hand (for now) but addison will soon give her a run for her money. they love to snuggle on the couch and usually end up in a tickle-fest. today was no exception...

and i had to show off addison's teeth. she didn't have any until she was 10 1/2 months, then all six came in at the same time. you can see four of them pretty good in this picture!
